Around 8am we’ll depart Waitangi and travel in warmth and comfort on our 7 metre Power Cat. Reliving some of the local history as we go past the Nine Pin and head up the coast to the stunning Cavalli Islands to dive the bejewelled and iconic ‘Rainbow Warrior’.
Sit back and relax in warmth and comfort, as we take you safely back through the unbelievably beautiful Bay of Islands. |
Returning back down the coast we’ll cruise over to Cape Brett, enjoying a piping hot drink as we go before sneaking through the famous ‘Hole in the rock’.
After our BBQ lunch in Deep Water Cove, the Bay of Islands very own Marine Reserve, you will have time to dive the naval frigate ‘HMNZS Canterbury’.
Another piping hot drink will be waiting for you before we make our way back to Waitangi. |
The Rainbow Warrior The Rainbow Warrior has become one of the most famous dive wrecks and is rated in the top 10 in the world. Since she was laid to rest in the Cavalli Islands in Dec ‘87, she has become a living reef, covered in Jewel Anemones. At 42 metres long, sitting on the white sandy bottom at 26 metres, you’ll see extensive marine life; Big Eyed fish, Snapper, Goat fish and even schools of Kingfish.

Hole in the Rock The largest and most famous Hole in the Rock in New Zealand. The water here is so clear you can see the bottom at 35metres! Spot the giant swallows nest, huge schools
of Trevally feeding just beneath the surface and feel the enormity of it all.

HMNZS Canterbury After 34 years service the HMNZS Canterbury, a 113 metre Leander Class frigate, was scuttled in the tranquil waters of Deep Water Cove. This site attracts experienced divers from far and wide.
She has become a peaceful home for many aquatic species; Nudibranchs, Crayfish, John Dory, Leather Jackets, Pigfish, Wrasse as well as a resident Octopus or two. Quite a Garden of Eden in 38m of water sitting perfectly upright
